Music From The Mersey, La's & Lasses.

I compiled a list of what I consider to be, the best music to have been produced by Merseyside acts. Due to the fact I have limited resources and haven't listened to every band I have compiled my favourites I suppose.

There's only two Beatles songs, A Hard Day's Night and All You Need Is Love, to show how they grew and brought in keyboards and orchestra in their later days and cause there's too many to choose from, and no Coral tunes, also difficult. And I've not heard anything by Shack, a shame I know. I also wanted to include The Real People and The Sums, of which cult hero Digsy is the writer, their tune Scared of Missing Out is a belter.

Echo & The Bunnymen have three tracks, Nothing Lasts Forever, The Killing Moon & I Think I Need It Too.

The La's clock in with the 1988 single version of There She Goes and a rehearsal version of Timeless Melody, as it's far superior to the album version.

One of my favourite bands at the moment, of which a pal of mine is/was a member The Bandits, who feature three times, the explosive The Warning, and the groove of Once Upon A Time, which narrowly beat out Wake Them Up At Sunrise; but their most popular tune from the pen of Gary Murphy, Take It and Run is a fantastic track, the video is also perfect for the mood of the track.

Another of my favourite bands feature three times, The Stairs, Edgar Jones' utter brilliance at singing tracks like Flying Machine and Laughter in their Eyes, but it's the should be anthem Weed Bus where everything shines. The 12" picture was on a road I used to go down everyday in Childwall!
